Cool foldable bike

Designing a bike is kinda like designing a chair. So many iterations have a large focus on the looks and not enough on function. So whenever I come across a design based on trying to solve a problem it's refreshing and usually eye-catching... like the "ufold." Although the collapsed bike's beauty can be argued over, the simplicity and ease of use is well thought of. I'd buy one, and at the end of the day, if money is what matters, this design is a winner :)

Props Andre Costa, you made a sweet bike.

Some color

My first go at painting color. It's very challenging, making you take the time and really observe and question the colors that you see, but it's so refreshing to see color. Putting in detail is still difficult. Richard Schmid, how do you do it!?

God! Be original already.

Sooo many people are obsessed at copying Apple. Although i don't support it, I can see why a cheap knock off would do it. They are small-time, lack the funds, etc. But HP??? Gimme a break!

We'll miss you Norm.

I'm incredibly sadden to write that a couple days ago, my teacher and friend Norm Schureman passed away in a tragic shooting.

During my time at Art Center I had him as a teacher, and later helped him as a teacher assistant. He was always encouraging. He would often let you know you did a good job with a pat in the back and an "adda boy!" To him we the students were an extension of his family. He wore no mask. When you took his class you really got a chance to see who he was, something I've experienced in less than a handful of instructors.

I had alot of respect for him, and will carry him in memories and in my heart.
Thanks Norm.

Got my Squidolin photographed!

Hello everyone,
Just yesterday I went to Art Center to get my Squidolin photographed. The pictures turned out great thanks to Steven Heller (ACCD photographer). I'm including these pictures as part of my submission to the IDSA competition held yearly. Wish me luck :)

3d squidolin

After a couple of days of modeling, I finally finished the Squidolin... again. This time in 3d studio max. I'm really diggin' this software, it's faster than solidworks and SUPER organic. Polygonal modeling takes a little time getting used to, but I like the smooth results. I will soon post it on my site ( www.crmendez.com ).
Peace out.
